 How to Transfer PF from Old Employer to Current Employer :- There are 6 Guidelines which should keep in mind before transferring EPF from Old Employer to Current Employer. Please read the below mention 6 guidelines before transfer the PF account also we are providing the process of transferring the PF account.

  1. The EPF member is required to be registered on the Member Portal to file an Online Transfer Claim Application.
  2. As there are certain pre-requisites to file the Transfer Claim Application online i.e. the availability of member IDs in EPFO database and registration of digital signatures of the authorized Signatories of the employer, the EPF member is advised to first check his eligibility to file the Transfer Claim Online through the link – For Employees > Online Transfer Claim on the Homepage of EPFO website www.epfindia.gov.in.
  3. Detailed process flow for registration on Member Portal and for filing online claim has been explained on the portal for the convenience of EPF members. The member should go through the process flow before filing up the Online Claim Application.
  4. Member has the option to get his/her form attested by the present or the previous employer. However, if the present establishment is exempted, the member can submit his claim only through the present employer as the Bank Account No. and IFS Code of the exempted trust would be required to be furnished for transfer of P.F. accumulations to the bank account of Trust.
  5. In case the Previous Account was maintained by PF Trust of the exempted establishment, the member should submit a physical Transfer Claim Form (Form 13) to the PF Office for transferring the service details under the Pension Fund to the new account. In such case, the Physical Transfer Claim Form (Form 13) to be submitted to the Trust would be available for print from the data entered by the member while filing online claim on the Portal.
  6. The member is required to take the printout of the submitted online claim application, sign it and submit it to the employer, previous or present, depending on the option chosen by the member while submitting the online claim.

Online PF Claim Transfer Procedure

To file a transfer claim online, the member ID should be available in EPFO database and the employer should have registered the digital signatures of his authorized signatories with EPFO on the portal.

To know the eligibility of the member to file an online transfer claim, the member should enter the details of his previous PF Account Number and present PF account number and click on “Check eligibility”.

If the member is eligible to file online claim, then he should be registered on the Member Portal to proceed further. In case he is already registered on the Member Portal, he can click on the “click here to log-in” link available on the eligibility result screen. Alternatively, he can click on “Click here to registration on Member Portal” under “Detailed Instructions”.

If the member is already registered, he can directly click the link “Click here to log-in to file Online Transfer Claim Application”. Following Screen will appear:-

Click on “Request for Transfer of account” to file online Transfer Claim. The following form will appear for entering the details of the member.

Please fill up the details in Part A and Scroll down to Part B pertaining to previous PF account as in the screen shown below:

Please fill up the PF Account number and click on “click here to get details”.

The details as regards the Name of the establishment, Address of the establishment, PF account held by EPFO office and Member’s Name would appear on the screen. Further, Date of joining, Date of leaving, Father’s/ Spouse’s name and Relationship would appear, if available in EPFO database. The member needs to mandatory fill up the Date of Birth and other details, if not available. On Scrolling down, the Part C of the application pertaining to present PF account would appear on screen as below:

        On entering the PF account no of the present PF account and clicking the “click her to get details” the Name of the establishment, Address of the establishment, PF account held by EPFO office and Member’s Name would get Populated. Other details i.e. Father’s / Spouse’s name and Relationship and Date of Joining the fund under present PF account number would appear, if available. The member needs to mandatory fill up other details, if not available.

        The member will have an option to get the claim attested through the previous employer or present employer.

        The application form is completely filled up and the member can go through the completed application by clicking on the “Preview” button.

Employer UAN Payment

Employees who are working in any organisation which has more than 20 employees and make contributions into the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme can request to transfer the PF amount into Universal Account Number (UAN). Universal Account Number (UAN) is an account number which is linked to multiple Member ID Numbers with one account. Employers have to fulfil some responsibilities for their employees who are working in their firm. Employees who applied to request for transfer of EPF Claim then the employers have to check all the details to approve the claim. The employer can approve the claim of the transfer and he can also reject the request for a claim. If the employer finds some mistake in the application form then he can reject the application for transfer. If the details of the employee do not match with the company record than the employer can reject the application to transfer the EPFO claim.

EPFO OTCP For Employer

Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) introduced the Online Transfer Claim Protocol (OTCP) a new service from which you can submit the application online for the transfer of claims by the members of the EPFO. The main objective of the Online Transfer Claim Protocol (OTCP) was to make the transfer process more transparent, effective and save the time of the employers. Any member of the EPFO has the option to claim the PF either from the current employer or previous employer. Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) replaced the Online Transfer Claim Protocol (OTCP) with the new interface on the Unified Member Portal. EPF Account Holders can use the service to request for the online EPF Transfer. If any employee leaves his previous job and joins a  new job then he can request to transfer the claim of Provident Fund into his new account. The employee has to fulfil all the rules and regulations to claim the PF. EPF Account Holders have to follow the procedure submit the application online for the transfer of claims. Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) replaced the OTCP just with the new and updated interface but all the functions and services are same as before. The new interface is very user-friendly and very easy to use. EPF Account Holders can check the eligibility to request for online transfer of claim.

Eligibility to Request for Online Transfer of Claim:

  • Employees have to go to the official website of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO)

Submit Hard Copy of Application Form 13:

  • Employees have to click on the Claim option

  • You have to print the Application Form
  • Submit the application form either to the current employer or previous employer
  • An employee has to sign the form and submit it within 15 days.
  • After 15 days, an employer has the option to reject the application.
  • You can check the claim status of the transfer of EPF Account under the Claim option.

EPF Claim Status:

  • Your employer may reject the application if he found any mistake in your form, an employer can edit and send you the revised copy of your form
  • An employer may reject the form in a case when the signature does not match with records, in case when the employee details do not match with the company’s record.

  • Go to your web browser and open up the member portal of EPFO.
  • Now enter your registered mobile number, your full name as per records of EPFO, your PF account number and your accurate date of birth as per records of the EPFO.
  • Once you have successfully done with the process upload the scanned copies of your documents ID such as PAN Card, passport etc.
  • Once done, click on the OK button to get forward with the process.
  • You will receive an OTP in your registered mobile number, enter this OTP in the prescribed column and hit enter to continue the process.
  • Set a protected password for your member login portal and confirm it.
  • Click on the Finish option and then close all the opened Windows.
